Hey Jerry. Sorry i didn't see this post until now. Let me take a look and try something.
but let me explain why this happens. The reason it does this is when i create the profile i set up a default value for the gobo shutter and dimmer values. when the preset switches are created and activated it grabs this default value information and activates it.

A screen picture? When I clik on a new pattern it defaults to white color. If I did not do what you quoted above, is the color a automatic default to white. If it is, can I change that default setting to stay the same as the switch or scene color that I had programmed. I don't want the color changed when I clik on a new pattern. Am I making sense with this.
I just re read your post where you set the default color in the profile setup, is that correct? I did not setup a white default in my Vizi Led Spot profile when I added the lights. I am confused on where this default white color comes from when a new pattern is cliked?
No not in the profile set up. when I write the profile itself. In the profile creator I select white and gobo open and shutter open and dimmer channel as defaults. That way the 3D viz. knows when to open the shutter and gobo etc. If I were to change in the profile itself say gobo number 3 as the default for the gobo channel when you select a preset movement it would then "default" to gobo 3. Understand?

Also if i am right you are saying that on your fixture page you select a gobo and then select a preset switch and that when you select that preset switch the gobo goes back to open. Correct? Well I just tried this on two different machines and on my fixture page I select a gobo then a preset switch and the gobo stays. I tried it in reverse too where i select my preset switch first and then a gobo and it works fine. Is this your issue?
Tell me which version of the software are you running? Sept 29 2009? Also what is the operating system on your PC that is running the compu live program. I hope I can help you with this.
Sincerely,
Whoa, I did not think this would be that hard to explain. When I clik on a switch to run it, lets say its blue with cirles. While its running I want to change to another pattern, say a figure 8, when I clik on the figure 8 the color always changes to "White" So what can I do to keep the color the same when selecting different patterns while a switch is running????

Using 1024EC Sept 2009 with XP
Jerry I do apologize for the break down in communication. The things is, is Compu live has a Ton and 1 features and functions. It is easy to get confused when people describe something a bit differently than what you yourself are used too.
So to clarify, lol. You have a switch that YOU created that has some fixtures moving or doing a shape? And when you go to select one of the preset shape switches it cuts off your color and makes it all white?
I am sorry to say that this goes back to what i was explaining to do about defaults in the fixture profiles. There is no way around this except to program your own shapes and colors. you can do this very easily aswell using the "as you see now" function and then hit OK+Edit. and then all you have to do is go into the scene and change the color. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
good idea! i just tried it and it works however it copies the color to the switch and it will always be that color. what I did was I clicked on one of the preset shape movements like the star and it came on white. Now I right clicked on one of the color from the color wheel and dragged it over the star switch and released the right click and the software asked if I wanted to copy and I said yes. and now whenever I hit that same star it is the color I copied over. Make sense?
Does this picture help?

Sincerely,
