I am upgrading to the latest version, Sept 2009 right?.

Save your work files and any custom profiles you may have made or received. save them to a thumbdrive or even your desktop. I recommend uninstalling and deleting the SL2006 folder then install the sept 29 09 version.

If i uninstall and then reinstall the new version,what is the best process to restore all my scenes, switches, cycle etc...

Best way is before you uninstall is to save your work as a show file (.ssh) by going up to controller> save the show. Once your all up and running on new version date simply go back to controler and select open show and find your .ssh file
Ok, I think got it. Just to clarify though. The show file will contain ALL of my information?

Yup all your fixtures, their addresses, and all the programming on those fixtures on the fixture pages aswell as the master page.
