Using DMX Operator Pro w/ Compulive

which compu live interface do you have? It has to have a DMX in for you to be able to hook up your dmx op pro. Let me know. And while i wait for your response i will try to refresh my memory on the DMX in function.

It is the Intelligent DMX interface, white box with three black buttons up the sides. It has a three and a 5 pin out I am currently using the 3 pin to go into my Opto. Should I use my 3 to 5 pin conncetor to go into my board from the 5 pin out on the box?

oh when you launch the software does it say suite2FC or something like that? Sounds like you have one of our Compu Show or Cue interfaces. If this is so you will need a adapter as the 5 pin out is actually to split up two universes. so your interface can support 3 DMX universe outs as well as i think 1 or more dmx in puts. These are new interfaces We/I and still learning them. Let me get back to you.

Yes it says 1SUITE 2FC. Yeah, its just hard for me to keep my eyes over the computer keyboard all the time, and having to use the shift key and all that to get the extra hot keys out of it is kind of annoying, but totally works. I just want to be able to either use my other Elation board in conjuction with the software, or find another controller well suited for being basically a bank of scenes and switches. I dunno,call me crazy but there is something about having actual hardware to use that just makes me more comfortable The other potential problem I see is that when using the software, the channel increments on the lights are every 8 channels, whereas on the board, its every 16. And the board also only supports 8 fixtures, so if the channels run over that limit, then what?

Well if you like programming on the software but you want a hardware type function why not look into a midi controller? Say even like a korg Nano kontrol or our elation Midicon?

Ya the midi con is awesome. Depends on if you just bought the dmx op pro or not. I cannot post sale prices on the forums. your best bet: Call our sales team and talk to them. Or call where ever you got the OP pro.
