Hello Lazer, In order to plug your SD into the 3D visualizer with compu live you would need to purchase a compu live or show interface that has DMX in. Once you do that you set up your stage in the 3D program and patch in your lights at the addresses that the SD uses and then plug the dmx out put from your SD to the input of the interface and then launch the program with your 3D stage and lights and you can program your console that way without having to hook up your lights. Make sense?
I do not think we have any compu live or show interfaces with just DMX in on our website. you may need to contact our sales dept. for that.
Sincerely,
That makes sense. I understand now. Now, my next question is, if I go about recording my show with my console running into the DMX of my compu dongle, while viewing in the 3D visualizer, can I then later go back to playback the recorded scenes, steps, etc with the console still plugged in and have the playback set to LTP in order to change certain aspects on the fly?
Jingles,
I'm not sure if you understood what I meant, maybe you did. What I was attempting to ask was the following. If I use my console to program in CompuLive via the dmx in on the dongle, will I be able to save the scenes, shows, etc ON THE COMPULIVE SOFTWARE, and then later, live at the venue with all the rig actually hooked up, use the saved scenes and use the console to manually control certain parameters on the fly, but using the original programming? Better described?
Well there are two functions for the dmx in on the interface and using a external hardware dmx controller.
1) you use just the dmx in and your console with just the 3D program to program your show in the console. meaning you are programming DMX cues into your console using the 3D as a visualization software.
2) your using the dmx console in the input on the interface but programming your lights in software by programming scenes and switches and using your console as form of dmx in control.

To be honest I have never tried it the way your using it. I think with what your describing i think the best way to go about assigning channels for override and using LTP your best option would be a midi controller. Let me look into this further.
Sincerely,
