what mode? there are more than one dmx mode you can run this on.

7 DMX work modes (2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 12 & 54 channel modes)

this might be why only part of your fixture is responding and the other part isn't. check to make sure that the software as well as the light are set up for the same mode.

Okay, I set the dmx address to d101 and changed the dmx mode to d-p4. Then I load the profile labeled Mega Tri Bar_mode6.ssl. When I get to the screen that allows you to enable the light, nothing happens. I unplugged the light, and plugged it back in the light flashed three times, but does not respond to the software.

ok so you are running it on 12 channel mode?

No, I have the fixture set to 6 Channel mode d-p4. Isn't that what the mega tri bar_mode6.ssl profile is for?

mode 6 is 12 channel mode. you need to change the profile on the software.

when you create a new page. in the scan library.

I changed the fixture profile to Mega Tri Bar_mode4.ssl, and set the fixture to d-p4, an I stil get nothing. What am I doing wrong?

if the display is blinking the unit is not receiving a dmx signal. does the software recognize the interface?

yes, the software recognizes the dongle. I tried another dmx cable, but got the same thing.

has this interface worked before? how old is this unit? there might be a problem with the dmx driver chip inside the unit. one way of making sure is by going into the tools.exe and test the dmx channels to see if the dongle is sending out a signal.

I just hooked up another fixture, and it worked correctly. The interface is about two years old. The fixture is only about two weeks old. where do I find the tools.exe file?

if you hooked up another fixture and it worked, then its not the interface. its the unit not responding to dmx. the tools.exe file is found in the c drive.
