I have an old 1024EC 32 bit dongle. I've had this system of light control for awhile now. I am an old burn out who is having a really hard time wrapping my head around the power and ease of this software. I use it it the wrong way I'm sure. While the demo stuff, the use of pages, scenes, switches, etc. I understand, I am having trouble transferring all that info to MY scenarios. I do lights for live bands. Scenes, flashes, cues, etc. come fast and furious. My old "hardware" board was an instrument I played. ;-) If I give all the specs, measurements, and lighting requirements, would someone be interested in doing a YouTube video or visualizer of the steps and tips to accomplish my needs? All I would want is a few simple, (for you NOT me), tips for the easiest and best way to do a few things. Examples: Is there a way to make a Colorsplash Jr. LED par flash by holding a keyboard trigger? The light would stay on as long as I held the trigger key and go out when I released it. Another.....Grouping 3 scanners on 1 side and 3 on the other side of the back of the stage, so when I center all 6, I can easily move the 3 on 1 side to guitarists position, and the other 3 to the same position? There are a few more complicated items, but if you want to start with those 2, I would tell you the others. If you can help me here, I would be SOOOOOO grateful!

I'll try the flash option as soon as I can boot up my old computer. How about the scanner scenario? I have 6 scanners across the back of the stage. The drummer is back center and a guitarist is stage left. If I have 3 scanners on each side of center on those back trusses, how do I easily move all 3 to where the guitarist is on stage without adjusting one at a time? All 6?
You mean to highlight the guitar player at certain times? It's the same concept really. Add a switch that moves your scanners to the position you desire, and change them to white or whatever color you choose. The important thing to remember is that all other channels on that switch should be off, so that they stay as they are on the currently activated scene. If you desire your scanners to slowly move to the location of the guitar and not instantly jump, you will have to set up an "easy step" in the switch. There is an option when you set up that switch that says, "the first step of the easy step fades". So when you program the switch, your pan, tilt, and (potentially) color channels should be set to easy step. You will then add a fade time to the first step. Finally, there is no way to fade out of a switch, so when you click off of it, it will jump back to the the scene you are currently on.
I didn't word that question very well. Sorry! I meant this: If I create a scene where all 6 of my scanners are highlighting a particular point on the stage, (my guitarists position), and I want to move that point, is there a way to move 3 or all 6 to a different position without adjusting each light separately. The bands I work with are on all different sized and shaped stages. I would love to be able to move the scanner positions easier than I do now. Now I create a different show for each band and each venue. It's a pain and time consuming. Is there an easier way to create the same show with differing positions for the same scenes is the best way to ask I guess.
