In This forum you can discuss tips, tricks, and troubleshooting for Elation's Next Generation Compu Live software, "Compu Show".

So, I've been having problems with the ADJ MyDMX prodct, which is a mixed blessing. First, I DO like the ADJ MyDMX product, but I've been pushing it beyond it's limitations, so Jingles talked me into Compu Show, and I must say that it's far too complicated for me, so I'm having a problem grasping a lot of it.

Still, it is the proper software package for what I want.

I'm rather pleased with my progress with almost no help.

I just got a few problems right now. Some is trivial but annoying, probably due to bugs in the beta. My main issue is that I need the ADJ Mega Bar 50 profile and the ADJ Mega Panel 7-channel mode to actually SHOW as lights, not as "lighted objects".

I've gotten my simple show programmed for next week. I can't wait to try it out with the hardware. This software has LOTS of live potential as well. I can see the efficiency once I get past the learning curve.

I think you'll need to make a new forum area for "profile requests". Having properly working profiles will really be the difference between an easy or difficult show design.

Worse case scenario, I'll just make new ones using the ADJ 64 LED Pro as a template.

Fortunately, there are some "sanity savers" in Compu Show that tell me that I'm doing this all right. Right now, gotta bang out the bugs before I start programming my main show. I start programming that one in February. That starts with a scene by scene documentation project in MyDMX, coupled with an animatic to import into Compu Show so I can compare with the 3D Visualizer of what I WANT to see(within reasonable variances).

I just think back to the last show. Problems with myDMX aside, there were last minute changes for adding spots to scenes and mover positions. I see BOTH these things being "no big deal" with Compu Show. The mover position was the worst. I have like 10 scenes in MyDMX, which if I just used Compu Show, would have been Scene 1 to set, Scene 2 to move the movers to position(and main color wash), and then scene 3 would be the alternate wash scene. I already see how Compu Show makes this sequence easier despite the additional complexities.
