Hello again,

When playing back a SHOW on SD2 .. I noticed that moving lights can't be moved with the joystick without snapping back to their recorded positions. I know the console is much different than the Magic 260, but is there a way I can still move the lights around with the joystick without it snapping back. My goal is to use a SHOW to switch colors instead of actual positions .. so when the SHOW is triggered, I can then use the joystick to move the lights manually while still getting the colors to move in an order I want. Is this possible?

To record a scene with color only, you will have to clear the buffer first, then only select the color using a wheel or a preset. If you have the lights positioned, that will be part of the scene. Hold the black button to clear the buffer, select a color, then save the scene. You won't be able to see the color on the lights.
Hey Ken,
As I'm just getting around to trying what you explained, I can't seem to figure it out. When I record the scene (in add on mode) .. Clearing the buffer, making sure all presets are off, and then changing just the color channels ... It doesn't work. Can you help me walk thru the steps of recording a scene WITH everything positioned and on and then record the additional scenes with just color changes. My lights still seem to black out when they go from a nice lit previous scene to the ones I'm trying to make for color changing-only. Please.
You can include the dimmer and shutter channels in those scenes if you want full intensity. That way the scenes are still lit. Just avoid recording pan and tilt settings.

You can also try using color presets instead. If you have a profile loaded for the light, there should be color presets available. You can either save a scene that only has color presets selected or even make a chase that is color presets. That way only colors change and nothing else.
Thank you so much for the quick response. Ok, I do want the lights at full intensity and shutter open, but if there's no position presets on nor if I touch any pan and tilt settings, why would the lights still move downward when changing to the new scenes? So, as long as everything is recorded with and IN add on mode, then the new scenes should stay in the same position from the 1st MAIN scene, right?
Add mode only applies to playback not recording. If your scenes are causing the pan and tilt to change, then those are included in the scene. Try clearing the scene buffer by holding "black" then open dimmers and shutters, set a color and save that in a scene. As long as you are in add mode the pan and tilt should not change when you call the scene. If you are in solo mode, unused channels like pan and tilt will go to 0.
