Thanks James,
I know of the compu live setup, and I normally would agree with you that computerized setup is the way to go, however in this case this is club rig, and being the production company who is providing for the club, there is security concerns as well as budget concerns, which makes us a bit un easy about putting in a computerized system which is why we have the dmx pro is there.
I was just wondering what the transparencies if any were on the DMX operator pro so that I can make better use of it, for the dance floor lighting while still maintaining a quick and easy setup for the live bands as well.
Ironically enough there is some transparencies on the console already, however its fixture based, so the transparency is based on values of the whole fixture (all 16 channels) that is selected when programing a chase, not the individual dmx channels within it. This is also based on the Mix/SEQ mode, as you choose weather you want to add the chase to the scene, or like a solo mode where the output is derived completely from the chase ignoring any data that was previously selected from the scene.
Again I don`t know the details or difficulties of the internal programing of the console, but if youre talking to anyone one of your staff who deals with the dmx operator pro, can you please pass on a suggestion for greater transparency options between the scenes and chases especially on the Intelligent side, possibly as a firmware update. This would make the console even more flexible, and give operators more options when programing.
Thanks,
