Anyone interested in using Skype/remote access to give me some training on this software. I am using it like a hard controller in most cases and need to wrap my head around switches and cycles. Some have tried on here to give me some idea of how these two features work, but I'm still lost. I used Sonar like a simple sequencer for years instead of unlocking ALL its power as an audio DAW. I then started using all its features and it became a completely new and immensely powerful package for me. I know Compu Live can do the same. Maybe we can work out a barter deal? I am in Baltimore Md. if that makes a difference. HELP!!!!!!!

What can't you get about these two? they are pretty easy.
Switch: is a momentary effect that can easily be turned on/off at any time no matter what scenes is playing. A switch can also be stacked on other switches for really neat layering effects. Switches rely on only the channel that you WANT to be over ridden be in use in the switch programming, every channel NOT needed to achieve the effect should be off in the switch editor.

Cycle: is considered a "cue list" or chase. A cycles is a single button that lets operators trigger a list of scenes in a pre determined order. A cycle can be manually triggered step by step AKA "GO" or it can set up to be timed and looped.

Does that help?
Tying my shoes is pretty easy for me now too. It was a beeotch before someone taught me. ;-) I will be willing to send my show to anyone, including you James, if they would show me the error of my ways so far. I don't use the "pages" for anything other than to include a fixture into my show. ALL my stuff is scenes. I mentioned I use the software just like a hard controller and I am shorting myself on the power of the software and want to expand my show to be more like what it is supposed to be used like. I am resigned to starting from scratch with this show, and beginning again. So again, would anyone want to train an old dog?
I have no idea what exact problems you're having but one quick trick that might help if you're doing scene to scene is to:
\
go into settings of a page
select channels option
select all the fixtures for the page with a click and a shift+click
ignore the range error
on the right there are options for dim fade speed.
I default to making them all active, however, here you can go through each channel of each fixture and set how each one will act.
