Design Spot 575E won't lamp on - err TILT

I have a design spot that will not lamp on. Tried new lamp, still nothing, tried lamping on from the console and at unit, put it in stand alone mode, still nothing. I am getting an error code that says TILT (but the tilt seems to work okay, although sometimes it does stick). Will this cause the lamp to not strike, or am I dealing with two issues?

Also, the TILT error usually goes away after the first or second re-start, if that helps.

hi, did you inspect the lamp. if you have another unit try swaping the lamp first. also regarding the tilt, did you by chance have the tilt lock on at any time when you powered up the unit, if so this will induce a code as well.

I am having the same lamp striking issue. I am not getting the tilt error code though. I have swapped the "bad" lamp with a known working one. The lamp still did not strike. Any thoughts? I got the lights in just before tech rehearsals started and wrote all my Q's with them in mind. HELP!

Sounds like it is either the ballast or igniter. I've had to replace a couple of those on these lights. Elation should be able to send you the parts if you are comfortable working on them. Just be careful around any capacitors if present.

i agree with will. it does sound like its an issue with ether the igniter or the ballast.
