pan/tilt size control behavior

For CompuShow June 7, 2011.
I'm having trouble with the SIZE control of Pan/Tilt for 8-bit fixture.. A Circle pattern, for instance, will behave erratic when the size control exceeds 0.
This happens regardless of reducing the Pan/Tilt limits in the page/patch/click X or Y item.
This happens regardless of reducing the size of the circle, layout of points.

The erratic behavior can be seen viewing the x/y dmx output of the scanner.
The channel calculations seem to overflow.
Can someone verify if this is so or not so I can identify the source of the problem.

I tried various 8 bit scanners from the library.
