Platinum hfx port workaround

Hey guy, I have a couple of HfXs that have a bad dataline somewhere bEthernet from where it receives DMX and where it plugs into the front control panel. Is it possible to use a dmx to Ethernet adapter to get operations again using the rj45 port that operates with edmx port instead of the standard dmx port?
