I have a Scene Setter 48 that, although all the lights on it are on and I can see the dimmer value change in the display, will not control the lights. At first I thought it was the wireless but when I disconnected the board and plugged the wireless directly to my switch I could control the house lights...good thing I didn't remove them from my patch.

I tried to reset the board but don't think that it took, plus there are two different ways to reset it that I found. Neither worked.

Can you advise the correct way to reset it? I only use it as a dimmer...no programs, no A/B, straight 48 channels (of which I only use 37).

Marcus,
try checking the MODE button. make sure that it is set to 1-48 single. speed and fade should be set to 0.

I did try that. Mode is always set to 1-48. May need to try it on A/B since the schools board that I'm replacing with mine is an A/B setup. But it has worked on 1-48, Dimmer for a while. Second time I've lost control through it though.

have you tried using it without the wireless? if so, you can try resetting it since you are not using any programs. here are the steps:
1.PRESS AND HOLD DOWN RECORD.

2.WHILE HOLDING DOWN RECORD,TAP ON FLASH BUTTONS 1,4,2,3.

3.RELEASE ALL BUTTONS.ALL MEMORY SHOULD BE ERASED.

I'll try that. The only issue I have is the board doesn't have a 5-pin out. That is one of the reasons why we use the D-Fi wireless, because it does. I think I have a 3-pin to 5-pin converter laying around though.

Also, do you think the DMX polarity switch might be a culprit?

yes, do try that 3 to 5 converter. our older boards had a polarity switch. if yours does, you can switch it on.
