Tempo/speed/fade times

Hey guys,
I have DMX operator pro, running a basic dmx setup. I am controlling 2 american dj dynasty scanners. I understand how to make scenes and chases, but my problem lies with the chases. I want to (in musical terms) on the one beat for the light to come one and move to location B for the second beat(but when the second beat hits - i want the light to be off. then during the time from the second beat to the third, go back to the original location of the 1st beat (to repeat). I am pretty sure the answer lies in the speed and fade times, but any hints or better suggestions?
