Okay, I have an Elation Magic 260 and program six scenes fine, then all the data wheels stop responding for some unknown reason. Powering the controller off, waiting over a minute (seriously), then powering back on does not correct the issue. I can play back scenes I've recorded fine, just can't add new ones or modify those I have, as ALL data wheels no longer respond. Anyone have any idea how to fix this, please?

How attached to those scenes are you?

Try performming a system reset and see if that brings things back to life. Of course, you lose what you've programmed.

I keep saying "document everything", in case something happens, you can get back up and running quickly. I would hope with only 6 scenes stored so far, this would be a minor inconvenience for you.
Thanks, Chris. I actually did that and it still does the same thing. After leaving if off for several minutes I go back and it works again for one, maybe two scenes, then stops responding again. The room is cool and the controller is on a separate circuit to ensure ample power. I cut the rig down to just 8 ADJ Spot 250 movers and 4 P64 LEDs, ample power and all lights are on independent channels (1-8 spots, 9-12 LEDs). I have an Obey 70 and have no issues with the current rig. It's just not big enough to run my band's full show for New Year's Eve (24 channels). All my cables are DMX, btw. Any other ideas? I'm pretty savvy with controllers and lighting, so starting to worry my controller is on the blink and hoping to rule that out. Red Face
Thanks and that's always the first thing I check. There are some other weird issues going on with it that convince me there's an issue. I tried saving the scenes I created as a show, got to the final step (did NOT press Enter, as in the manual) and it locks up the controller when saving the show. All LEDs on the entire board light up, which is not a good sign. I bought a new one and will get this one fixed to use as a backup. Thanks for all the help, guys! Big Grin

Make sure that the master fader is not at zero when adjusting the data wheels.

Are you using the correct profiles for all of your fixtures?

Have you attempted to load any files into the Magic 260? Using the wrong cable or loading an incorrect file can cause some issues.

I forgot to mention, I reset my controller, then reloaded rev 1.02M and all my profiles, which were freshly downloaded direct from Elation's website (very helpful, I might add). Hate to say, but it's really looking like an issue within the controller itself based off what we've tried so far.
Okay, I've confirmed there is an issue with the controller. After further troubleshooting I went through all fixture channels and found 23 states "OFF" under "Channel". Also, whenever you select a fixture on that channel it is blank in the display and no matter what you choose when you press ENTER it goes blank. This thing's off to RMA land unless anyone has a better suggestion?
