Old Trackpod 81 TP-81 Intelligent LEDs Color Systems blowing fuses at power on.

Hello All,

While I am a electronics technician, I have no experience with production lighting or LED systems as I am more of an amp guy. I recently purchased 8 old Elation/Alkalite TP-81 Intelligent LED Color Systems (Link) and a few 575E AT moving head lights at a liquidation sale for a local production company. Literally everything has 1 or two issues, but almost all of the TP-81sblow the 2A GMA fuse at power on. I am guessing this must have been a common issue with these because they all have it. What is the best place on the boards to start diagnosing and hopefully repairing these? I bought them dirt cheap for my parents church with the hopes of being able to repair them. I don't want to start tearing them down until I have a plan for what I am going to do. It's likely a short somewhere, I would think. Any help would be appreciated.

Greetings unfortunately this is a very old unit and literature is no longer available. I would look at the toroidal transformer, im willing to bet its shorting out. FYI we no longer have parts available as well.

Thank you. I will take a resistance measurement from one of the functional units and see if I can find a suitable replacement.
