I am a considering purchasing a new controller for a small touring show I do. I would love to just take the plunge and get a Compu Show SD (I need either SD or FC for the easy show function), but I really can't justify the expense of purchasing an SD dongle, and am seriously considering purchasing a FC dongle.

With the new compu show software, I have read you can use palettes for positioning to make setting up in different venues easier. (go in and adjust the position palettes as opposed to haveing to go through cue by cue).

Is there an easy way to simulate these types of palettes in Compu Live? maybe switches set as positions?

you can do switches or you can go into the page settings and set the fixture "area" which you could set to a specific area you want the light to show too..... i use this a lot with my wash lights, i set each one to a specific area of the stage over lapping the area of the next to get a nice even wash....then i design the show... then the next stage can be bigger or smaller, and i simply go in and re-adjust the area the show remains the same in the programming, just simply changes a little off the stage size...
