I've downloaded the CAD drawing for the Elation fixture I use. I'm not a professional nor have I any experience in using CAD applications. I did take drafting in high school. Take it for what it was worth. I downloaded the free SolidWorks eDrawings software for my Macintosh and opened the CAD drawing provided.

I see a nice line drawing of top, front, side with dimensions. The Displayed Layers shows "0" and "__SHELL". The first contains the dimension text. The latter contains all other drawing elements.

Here's my dilemma. All I want is a 2D outline of the fixture that accurately represents it on a lighting plot (using LXBeams). I would like to have a top, bottom, and side symbol but will settle for top (just indicating fixture position).

Do I have to learn CAD to make my own or has someone else done the work for me? I can't find anything by searching for the fixture name along with "symbol" or looking for "Elation library".
