Hi Gang,

The theater I work at recently purchased some used Elation Seven Batten 72s. Wonderful fixtures, just have a minor issue after a few months and need to know where to start and possibly what parts to order so I don't waste a bunch of money on the wrong pieces.

We had 5 fixtures set up on the floor and everything was working fine. Went through a changeover, where they were set aside for a week, and when I reconnected everything, ONE CELL (out of 10) on one unit was missing Red. It's POSSIBLE that it died earlier than the changeover, but doesn't feel like it.

So my question is, if there's only Red missing from one cell (the 6 LED segments), where should I start? The Drivers? The LED panel? is it possibly just a wire I can repair? Anything to watch for if I wanted to start swapping parts to find the bad one? (swap two LED panels or two driver boards, just to see?)

Normally I'd go in blind and experiment, but we only have one spare for this show, and I want to have some tips/advice before I even pull the bad unit. It's barely noticeable for now, so I figure I'll take the time to get all the facts.

Thanks in advance!

Finally got around to taking the trouble unit apart (when it wasn't needed for awhile). Cell 2 was the bad Red, Swapped the LED boards from 1 and 2, didn't move the problem.

Got in the back, started swapping cables for cells 1-3 around, problem appears to be one half of the driver board (or whatever you call it between the power supply and the LEDs themselves). Should be easy enough to swap, just not as cheap. Ah well...
