I mean if I got a Scene Setter 48 I can controle any DMX fixture with it or it is Specially for Dimmer fixtures only (Par,Freznel,Spotlights), So this controllers are not made to control intelligent lighting??? Frowner

Do I need to get a Elation Magic 260 or other (intelligent lighting controller) for optimal control of this systems?

Wont the intelligent lighting DMX fixtures the work perfectly in a Stage Setter 48?

Or it would work perfectly but in a Intelligent Lighting controller?

Can I use an intelligent lighting controller to controle Dimming fixtures and it will work well?

Will I have the same control?

Whats the best combination Elation can offer for best control?

Cause I am trying to get a DMX controller to hold up a lot of Channels with faders (from 48-96 or more) but that can also control the intelligent lighting control. Smiler

All DMX controllers can operate both conventional dimmer channels (as long as the dimmers are DMX) and intelligent lighting.

The amount of channels you require and what you will be using more of in your rig are the biggest factors in choosing the right console.

Your scene setter 48 for example is ideal for conventionals because it contains 48 faders (which are individual DMX channels). If you you wanted to control an intelligent light, and it had 20 dmx channels, you would only be able to control 2 fixtures. You really need higher DMX channel counts to control a good amount of fixtures. The Scene Setter 48 has 48 dmx channels, the magic 260 has 260 dmx channels (and rotary knobs instead of faders), and the Show Designer 3 has 1,536 dmx channels.

It is up to you to determine the right console for your application.
