Any Tips/Resources on creating a great light show?

Hi Everyone,

So now I have this great Elation Software package, and a few lights. I've got everything working (creating scenes, switches, & Cycles - all triggerable by my midi pad).

8 PAR 56
8 Color Pallets LED
2 Mega Strobes
4 Dynasty Scan DMX
2 Starball II

Are there any good books, websites, resources etc for designing a good light show? Do's and don'ts, Tips. I'm doing all of this to support my 14 piece show band.

well i get inspired my watching concerts or anything with good lighting. even listening to music. or watch a concert with a huge rig and try to recreate some of those scenes or sequences on your smaller rig. try it and see what comes out. thats how i learned and still do to this day. also i had a good mentor to help guide me and challenge me. if u wanna know who it was ask. peace!

and if u dig around the press room u might find me in an article or two. lol
p.s. hey los do u know how to use the chaser rack and other misc effects when making a scene? if not then call elation and ask for compulive tech support on monday and i can help show ya some tricks. have ur computer ready! lol jingles.
