New Emulation user here! DJ and party promoter who wanted to get involved with DMX. I'm a week into the software with one show under my belt using it. Very cool, but I can tell I have a lot of stuff to learn...so you will likely hear a lot from me over the next couple weeks.

I have a set of Chauvet Colortube 3.0 EQ lights that link and are driven by a DMX fixture box called a CT3EQ. It looks like a need a personality profile built for this fixture.

I would really like to learn how to build personality files myself, so any information you could send on that would be wonderful.

In the mean time, it looks like you guys build a lot of personality files for users. I would also need some explanation of how to load the file.

Thanks a ton!!!

Seems like you only need a profile for the controller unit which sends the dmx to the tubes. Six channels used total. not sure how that all hooks together but that is for you to figure out from chauvet not me. lol. Weird traits. I'm gonna have to think about the best way to do create this profile given the mess of a DMX chart that is.
Sincerely,
You are correct about all of that. THe dmx goes into a single box where you can control the modes and settings. From that box a proprietary cable daisy chains the tubes.

The personality file is essentially for the CT3EQ box, but it is unique to the Colortubes which are the lights that are normally in a set.

I would recommend the following mapping, but I'm new to Emulation so I trust your judgement.

Channel 1 - Mode (Custom)
Channel 2 - Red
Channel 3 - Green
Channel 4 - Blue
Channel 5 - Speed (Custom)
Channel 6 - Strobe (Custom)

That would be my preference so that the were 2 sets of three properties grouped together.

Thanks!
Ahhhhhhh. Yes. I can do that. haha. Brain fart when looking at the traits. Big Grin
Here you go.

Are you on Mac or windows?
for windows you simply need to just go to this filepath and place the file in the folder.
C:\Users\{Username}\Documents\Elation\Common\Personalities\User
If on a Mac the file path is somewhat similar. (Sorry I'm a windows user)
now once the file is in the proper folder, open the emulation program and go to patch and then add. now scroll to the bottom of the manufacturer list and keep scrolling down until you see the "{User}Chauvet" find the "CT3EQ" fixture and select the proper number of fixtures and that's it. Let me know how it goes. Thank you for the kind words. Smiler
Sincerely,
