When will compulite be available for mac??

I am desperate to use Elation lighting, but i am on mac. And i dont really want to run it on windows, as 3D view wont work as have windows running on a Virtual Machine (VMware).

Cheers,
Chris

So there is absolutely NO chance of creating Elation Lighting software for mac??

Apple have sold over 2,000,000 macs in the past quarter. What happens if 3,000 of those users are users wanting to use Elation software NATIVELY on their macs (not with boot-camp, parallels of VM Ware fusion)!

I am a student and LOVE the elation software, i am looking at a career in lighting design, and this would be my product of choice. Having it just available on windows is somewhat limiting your market!! after all Mac's are for designers!!

I understand their (used to be) a considerable cost in getting software converted to mac. Now with apple's latest Intel motherboards, it is quicker, cheaper, and easier than it was to create software for the old power pc's.

I am quite disappointed with the companies decision NOT to create for mac users!

I may be JUST a student, but surely i am not the first to ask?

I am not by any means 'having a go' i am just stating my opinion.

I do hope that making Elation software for Mac's is not totally ruled out, and the company consider converting it!

Thank You,

Chris Percival

In order for the software to run on Mac, our developers would need to hire an entire Mac team to convert the software from PC to mac.
This is not in the near future.
my condolences.
On the upside, I have heard it works great with the parallel system.

he didn't say never. just not in the near future. i could see elation doing it in the future but not anytime soon. again. sorry. Frowner
Hi Chris,

I understand your frustration.. I really love the new Leapord X for Mac.. It's really awesome.

However, as it stands, no lighting programs are written for MAC. All lighting programs are written for PC's and Audio programs are written for MAC's.

In order to create the software for Mac, we would have to get a whole new set of programmers to convert everything to MAC.
The programmers right now only write for PC, and any time it would take to create for Mac would take away time from creativity and improvements on current windows based Compu Live.

For this reason, at the moment, no time is being focused to work on a MAC version.
I think after the 2008 release, when all is good, and key features are implemented into the software, A Mac programmer will arrise and take on the feat of converting to MAC.. Until then.. we can only wait.

Best regards,
@ ebac: 08' i have heard will have a lot of cool new features like being able to visualize leds better and also being able to tell the difference between different type of lamp wattages. also there is a whole new coding system. they re wrote the code to make it easier to add updates and bug fixes etc. just be on the lookout i believe i could be wrong but i heard sometime in jan the 08' beta will drop.
@ static pro, welcome back chad! jingles!
Hi Guys,

Thanks for the responses!

I do hope that elation get their compulive software available for mac very soon, for both mac users, and their own sake!! - Alot of designers (including LD's) are moving to mac, and loads of PC lighting companies are making their software for mac. (some of which static has specified)

I think Sunlite are, who's software is identical (almost) to elation's compulite!

Cheers Guys,

I hope you come up with a solution soon, so i dont have to take my custom elsewhere!
