ok for all the newbies out there here is a little leson in figuring out dip switches and applying them to your fixtures.
there are either 9 or 10 dip switches usuall dip 10 would be like a sound active mode or other function. so here is a run down
dip 1=1
2=2
3=4
4=8
5=16
6=32
7=64
8=128
9=256
get the patterns? so say u had a light that needed an address of say 36 u would have dips 6 and 3 up and the rest down. make sense? peace! jingles.

one thing you might want to add is that to get that address you want you add up the dip switches that are on, like in your example dip switches 6 and 3 were up so -
3 = 4 and
6 = 32 so
32 + 4 = 36

and another example, you want to address to 173 maybe so add up until you reach 173

8 = 128
6 = 32 (so far we have 128 + 32 = 160)
4 = 8 (160 + 8 = 168)
3 = 4 (168 + 4 = 172)
1 = 1 (172 + 1 = 173)

so for 173 dip switches 8,6,4,3,and 1 all on, the rest off.

let me see if i can explain this simply(because i've been told that i go into to much detail when i explain stuff) the mixer doesn't really "know" what light is where it just sends a signal called a DMX signal. this DMX signal consists of a number 0-255. the signal has a specific channel associated with it(i.e. 4 (can be up to 512))this channel corresponds with the address the light is set to. it is addressed usually using the DIP switch has stated above, and if the channel in that signal is the same as the lights address then the light will see what the signal tells it to do(i.e. turn on). i hope this helps. let me know and i can explain it more if ya want.

ok set your first light to channel 1 (DIP Switch 1 up, the rest off) then your second light to channel 6 (DIP switches 2,3 on, rest off) your third light to channel 11 (1,2,4 on, rest off) and fourth to channel 16 and so on just adding 5 channels. A little semi-visual presentation showing you

Light One(addressed to channel 1):
Ch. 1 - not used yet
Ch. 2 - strobe
Ch. 3 - red
Ch. 4 - green
Ch. 5 - blue

Light Two(addressed to channel 6):
Ch. 6 - not used yet
Ch. 7 - strobe
Ch. 8 - red
Ch. 9 - green
Ch. 10 - blue

Light Three(addressed to channel 11):
Ch. 11 - not used yet
Ch. 12 - strobe
Ch. 13 - red
Ch. 14 - green
Ch. 15 - blue

Light Four(addressed to channel 16):
Ch. 16 - not used yet
Ch. 17 - strobe
Ch. 18 - red
Ch. 19 - green
Ch. 20 - blue

Another newbie her! I am working with the Opti RGB and I am helping with an instal in a church. I have 8 Opti lites on a bar and I am pairing them off into 4 sets of 2. I would like them programmed so that I have a red, green, and blue channel with a master dimmer channel for each pair of two. How would I go about assigning the dip switches to accomplish this?
