dmx and cyberpak

I have a cyber pak that I am trying to set up to control two spot lights. I am using a leviton board. I think I have programmed the cyber pak correctly, but I am not getting a DMX signal from my board. The lcd is not flashing. I am using normal 3 pin xlr cables since that is what the levitron board specified. Do I need to use regualar 3 pin dmx cables to run the cyberpak? I am able to use the board with 5 pin dmx cables to led lights that work great but unable to figure the cyber pak out. Any help would be appreciated.
