DMX Operator

I am looking for a way to help me program my DMX Operator controller which I use with 8 ADJ ProPar56 RGB fixtures and 2 ADJ Revo III's. They are set up with half on each side of the stage. Since I work out of my home I am looking for a way to program the "operator" and lights without dragging all of them out and setting them up in my living room. Is there a device or software package that will work with the above and give me a display of what I am doing as far as setting up scenes and chases? I'm sure alot of other home or amateur users must have the same problems. I use my laptop forplayback of itunes through my pa system. Don't know if any ideas that you might off might conflict.
