Does DMX 512 applicable for LED Screens based on RGB Pixels

LED screens run off of a video controller that is running a video software program. However, LED strips run off of DMX, these, if you have enough of them, can be used to create a video wall...but it takes many universes of dmx and video software that is cabable to do LED mapping for a video source

One example going off of what Jeff said, ADJ has some LED panels. The Flash panels are DMX ran and have 16 "pixels" per panel. So each panel takes 48 dmx channels. You can run about 10 panels in one DMX universe. Take a look at the You Tube video on the product page: http://www.americandj.com/Prod...nId=2&Category=L.E.D.
They are very low res and it would require many many panels and DMX universes to get a decent resolution out of them for even basic graphics. But the point of all this is, DMX wasn't meant for video displays.

Yea, it is possible to do what you see in the video, however, what you see is called pixel mapping and it is done typically through video software due to its complex nature
