fogger on a dimmer?

hey everyone, ive got a tour coming up next week and want to be able to control my fogger from my console but it isnt dmx and i cant find an adapter so i was thinking of running it on a dimmer pack, is this a bad idea? any possible solutions?

I wouldn't do that. Most foggers going off and on frequently is not good for the heater.
Also the warm up time after every time you turn it on.
Thats my "two watts" on the subject.

If you decide to accept the wear and tear on the heater and live with the warm up time, I'd suggest you put the dimmer pack in "switching" mode. You could hurt the electronics in the fogger if you "dim" the power supply.

Rule of thumb.
Never put any fixture with a transformer on a dimmer.
only gear that's is straight 120V should go on a dimmer.

Our dimmers have switch mode, but even in switch mode we do not recommend connecting anything to it with a transformer.

How do you know if something has a transformer.
If the lamp inside it is not 115-120v it has a transformer.
