In This forum you can discuss tips, tricks, and troubleshooting for Elation's Next Generation Compu Live software, "Compu Show".

Hi,

I am really enjoying your software and look forward to it developing further. I have a set of Chauvet COLORPalettes that I am using in six channel mode, however when I do not send this DMX command, it 'confuses' the latter addressed fixtures. I see where it is possible to disable modes within the fixture profile, but is it possible to automatically send a DMX range or perhaps modify the INIT button to send the six channel range to that DMX channel??

Perhaps you have another suggestion for a workaround for fixtures like these where the DMX mode must be sent through a DMX channel constantly?

Thanks so much !

WOW !!! THANK YOU FOR THE QUICK REPLY !!!!!!

I really appreciate the insight. Didn't even think to edit the INIT scene like it was any other scene.
I must admit I am only 'demo-ing' the software at this point, and it was VERY nice to wake up with my question answered. I am going to order a package today!

Thanks for the EXCELLENT support !
Well, actually I don't understand the blackout scene concept you speak of. I'm trying to get these fixtures set to 6ch mode without using a putton press at all... Basically when I go to program a new blank scene, if I do not set these to 6 mode, it disrupts the latter DMX channels on other fixtures. I'm not sure how a 'blackout' scene would be any less complicated than going to the fixture pages and setting the 6ch mode button each time... is not the init scene just for that fixture page and the one on the master page connected to all the individual init scenes for each corresponding fixture? If not, I would think it should be :-)
what would creating a blackout scene do for me that hitting the mode button on the fixture page wouldn't?
sorry for the confusion
Right also true. I understand. no need in creating more buttons or editing them when all it is, is a button push from the fixture page. Another thing you can do is set the switch button on the palette page for the 6 ch mode function to always be on. meaning it will not go off unless you go into the switch settings and manually turn it off. to do this click on the switch to make it active then hold down the shift key and right click the same switch. Select settings from the list that appears and then at the bottom left there is a section called "Button" click on the "Switch" text and then you will see options for LTP and auto release. But towards the bottom there are three options with check boxes. Put a check in the first box labeled, "The Switch is always on" then click ok and then the switch for 6 ch mode will NEVER.......EVER turn off unless you go back into settings and uncheck that box.
Cool?
Sincerely,
This seems to work! I will let you know for sure when I receive the hardware I just ordered Smiler

I also purchased a MidiCon and was wondering if any extensive documentation is coming soon for this part of the software? I feel very comfortable in your software already, but I am totally unexperienced with mapping a console to software... I need to hit the ground running Big Grin
