LSC SC-8 latch buttons overheat

I'm new to this site so before anything, I say Hi to everyone
I nave an issue with an LSC SC-8 controller. When the switches are on and lighted by the internal little lamp, they overheat to the point that the plastic has burn/ melt marks.
Has anybody seen this problem before? any suggestions ?
