I had a Platinum Spot 5R go in for repair, and Elation replaced it with a new fixture, that seems to be something like Version 1.1. In the manual (branded v. 1.1) - there is a menu item on the fixture that puts it in v. 1.0 compatibility mode. Can anyone tell me what's different between the versions?
Things I've noticed: I've got the new fixture hanging right next to some v. 1.0 fixture, and there are some differences. First, it's 'upside down' to the others: the vents under (over?) the lens are hanging opposite of the other fixtures... so when I have gobos projected, this new fixture looks 'upside down' compared to the others. Same orientation, just upside-down.
Also, the homed focus position (and slider or encoder-controlled focus) is not the same as the other fixtures - this one new fixture needs additional tweaking to bring it into focus like the others.
Would these issues be resolved by setting that menu item to Version 1.0 Compatibility? And/or will I screw up other things by using that setting?
