In This forum you can discuss tips, tricks, and troubleshooting for Elation's Next Generation Compu Live software, "Compu Show".

Some one gave me a nano kontrol last night. Pretty sure its the first gen, 9 ch/4scene/white and blue. Should this be pretty much plug and play, just have to assign? Also, in messing around with it, I noticed a couple of things.....Scenes 1-3 the pads on the Kontrol are flash, is there a way to make it so the hold(I'd like to assign colors to these so they hold). In scene four they hold, but for whatever reason selecting one selects the whole row? So much to learn........

PS
Using the beta version.

Thanks so much!

Well I thought I got it???? So here is what I would like to do- I want to have the pads hold when I select them..Ex. Lets say I assign "red" as a switch to a pad, as it is when I do this it releases when I let go. What steps do I need to do so that when I press the pad it holds without holding it down?

I think it was working like this yesterday, but when I started up today went back to releasing when I Let go.
Here's a little more detail if this helps. I would like to assign colors/gobos/prism.....from the fixture page to pads for use with running the lights live. In the settings for each attribute they are selected as switches. I am wanting also to assign switches from the master page to pads(dimmer chases, shutter chases.....) And then have he speeds and such assigned to rotaries and faders. I would like to press a pad to turn on, and then press the pad a second time to turn off or move to another pad to override.

Thank you very much!
Also the easiest way to assign speed control and dimmer control is to use the function "selected page" and "Selected button. Or link it to just the master page dimmer ,speed knobs and use only switches in that page when you trigger switches with the pads. Does that make sense? If you want you can give me a call or email me your number at jamesk at Elation lighting dot com and i will call you when I can. Sound good?
Sincerely,
If I can figure out just this one thing, I'm gonna be super stoked. I want to control scene and switch speeds independently from each other. Here's what I'm seeing.....The only way to control speed is using master speed on the page when I use hot keys or midi controller, unless I use the cursor to select a scene or switch, then the attributes of whatever I select come up(speed/dim/phase/size). Is there way to do this without using the cursor to select, or am I doomed to buying a touchscreen.

Example-Lets say I have circles"scene" running, but then want to throw on a dimmer chase"switch" As the sequence is running, I want to speed the dimmer chase without speeding up the circles.

Any ideas as how I can do this without selecting the scenes and switches using the cursor and instead use my hot keys and midi?
If I am understanding this correctly, you want to adjust a parameter ie speed, size ,dimmer, etc on the fly but do not want to have to click the button to get it to come up?
I know you can add a knob to any button on the fixture page. simply hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and select any or all of the following. "Show Faders: Dimmer, speed, Size, Phasing" and that will add a colored knob to the button. you could then add a midi trigger to that specific knob without having to trigger the button.
Let me know how this goes as I am about 98% sure that will work for what you are trying to do.
Sincerely,
