Does anybody know how to get an Opti-Tri-Par into RGB Mode? the Manual says to keep pressing mode until XXX is displayed but that option never comes up?

I'm also looking for a way to lock the controls so that if the fixture gets bumped it's doesn't quit working or re-address the fixture.

Thanks

Not sure about the RGB Mode issue. Have you tried going into mode and scrolling though the menus to find it? Only thing I can think of. If I get a chance, I will dig out a couple I have here and take a look at it.

As for locking the controls, sorry to say I don't know of a way to do that. Would be nice though. That is one advantage dip switches have over a screen/buttons, someone really has to want to mess with the fixture to change its mode/re-address the fixture.
Okay, looked at the Opti Tri and can confirm what you have found, no RGB mode. Menu 8 has 32 different color marcos on it, but no precise control like described in the manual. Maybe Elation has done a revision, and the new software version has RGB mode on it. Only thing I can think of. I would contact Elation support directly and ask them.

Something you can try and do in the mean time to get precise control. Set the fixtures to DMX mode, 3 channel or higher for RGB control, plug in a DMX console, set the desired levels, and unplug the DMX console. The light should hold the last DMX command it received. This means whatever RGB value was mixed on the console, the fixture remembers it. the only issue is, if the fixture loses power or has its address/function changed, it will reset back to nothing or going into whatever standalone mode it was bumped into.
Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't 0001 and 0002 display on or off respectively? I don't have the Opti Tri manual in front of me, but earlier today when I checked the fixture, that just turned the display on and off after 10 seconds of not hitting a button. The Opti 30 RGB uses the same menu system as the Opti Tri and looking at its manual, it says 0001 and 0002 is for display on and off.

Edit: After getting back to my room and checking the Opti Tri manual, it says the same thing the Opti 30 RGB manual says, 0001 is display on, 0002 is display off with 10 second delay.
