It sounds like you are looking for a palette system. Basically, you make palettes for your positions and program your scenes and chases using those palettes. Then, when you go to the next venue, you simply update your position palettes for the new room and everything else that is programed using those positions is updated. There are more than one type as well, so it works with colors, positions, groups, and gobo/beam effects as well. It is a very powerful, useful, and time saving tool.

If I remember correctly, CompuCue and CompuShow both have this system. You can download the software for free to mess around with it and then buy the dongle.

to back up what Serra said, yes Compu does have this system and from what im seeing you want to do, i would tell you Compu is the way to do this the easiest You can also maunaly on the fly change what the lights are doing (without needing to fully program scenes)

no, once you create the scenes, the only way to adjust them is to recreate the scenes with the new pan/tilt values

If you like having a hardware desk at your finger tips, look into getting the Midicon. I am pretty sure again that it works with CompuCue and CompuShow (Jeffery can clarify for sure).

I know I personally prefer a hardware desk for all my shows. Drives me nuts when I am stuck on my laptop and using a dongle lol.

The Magic 260 manual at page 19 leads one to believe that you can include up to six "presets," fixture movements (e.g., figure 8s) in a scene. Presets have 18 recodable points. The presets allow you to easily change where the recordable point are in a room when you get there.

This is really a wonderful idea. I haven't read this page actually. The each fixture movement produce an excellent effect and it is really easy to use them.
