Now that I am delving deeper in to the programming (made a few cues) I am finding Emulation is crashing often on Mac OS 10.5.8 dual 2.4, 4 gig ram, during programming and playback, about every 5-10 minutes. Way too often to risk using live that is for sure. Also cue lists are behaving erratically sometimes changing adding or dropping their attributes randomly and then often this is followed by a crash. When restarted they seem to remember their original attributes. Is there better stability on the PC version at this time? Or is it perhaps this program is optimized for snow leopard? Or is it still a few versions away from being usable reliably on Mac? Could it also be I have a faulty usb/dmx interface?

Using with 6 design spot pros.

Thanks for any suggestions! Would an elation show designer be the most stable lower priced option since it is a dedicated controller? can scenes be triggered by midi on the show designer?

so many questions! please advise thank you!

Thanks for any advice!

Unfortunately I did return to the product so I could switch back to another more stable software, MyDMX, whose interface works but is less gooey compared to the emulation software which aside from the bugs i really enjoyed and prefer. In my honest opinion emulation software is not ready for professional use and should not be sold until its ready.

Without the usb/dmx cable, I can no longer provide any further feedback however if you want to me to beta test it to provide more help getting it ready that would be fine with me. I did really enjoy the console style interface emulation that was created for the software. I do encourage you to suss out the bugs for I really believe with the right marketing lighting programmers would choose it over other software for its beautiful analog design and ease of use.

Cheers!

Ginza we have still been discussing your issue that you had with emulation and it turns out you very well just could have had a faulty Cue cable. It happens. I do apologize I wasn't able to detect this on my own. Can you please tell us where you sent the returned cable? As we may want to track this down to prevent another customer receiving a bad product. Once again i do apologize for not catching this sooner. Please let me know in forum reply or email me directly at Jamesk At elation lighting DOT COM
Sincerely,
