Stage setter 24 vs scene setter 24

after reading the owners manual for the Scene Setter 24 I'm still confused...can I program scenes into the flash buttons like I can with my Stage Setter 24? I use the flash buttons alot with the Stage Setter and the wear is starting to show, so I am thinking of purchasing a Scene Setter so I can swap the boards and repair my Stage Setter so I can have a backup.
