I purchased emulation software. I have 6 moving lights. 2 elation pro spot 250, 2 elation pro wash 250, & 2 coemar 575 prolux. I have complete control using the 2 Pro spot 250's, however the other two kinds of fixtures don't respond correctly to the software. For example the coemars do not stop strobing and for both when, I choose pan they would change gobos, choose red and they will pan. I have gotten several updates from elation tech support, and that has been like pulling teeth. I believe the channel libraries in the software is mixed up. Does anyone know if there is a way that I can look at the library of each light so that i can compare it to the channels in the manual so I can trouble shoot it?

Kelsey,
My name is Rafael and I am a Customer Support Supervisor here with Elation Support. I am sorry to hear that you have been issues with your Emulation software. I also read you've had some issues with our support dept? Why don't I try and resolve your issues for you personally.

What I believe is that it could be one of two different things. As you mentioned a problem with the Coemar 575 PRO LUX profile and the DMX traits. Another thing it could be is an issue with either the DMX address being incorrect? Also if this fixture has various modes to run it in it could be possible it is not in the correct mode. If you would please verify the DMX address, and that it is in the correct mode.

In the mean time if you like you can download the personality builder for Emulation on our Emulation page on our website. You can then find your fixture on there, select it and edit the fixture. This will allow you to open up the individual channels and check out the DMX traits to verify if they are correct. If not please send me the DMX traits for this fixture and I will look into it.

In all honesty most our new profiles and our updates come from our engineers overseas. If you do not want to download the personality builder then send me those DMX traits direct and I will make sure that we look into it and try and rectify your situation. The personality builder is pretty new and we are still getting use to it ourselves, this is the reason why I have been having our engineers assist us with our profile requests (which usually come with a new update) until we are more familiar with it. You can send them to my attention at support@elationlighting.com I apologize for the inconvenience; let's see what we can do to get you up and running.

Hello Kelsey, I am also a support tech for our Computerized lighting control software's. I will agree with what RC has posted. If you can get us a copy of the DMX traits that will be of great assistance in us getting you up and running again. However this does also sound like a addressing problem. But like I said if you can get us the DMX traits for the fixtures your having issues with we can do our best to solve your issue ASAP. You may email me direct at jamesk at elation lighting dot com
Sincerely,
First off thank you for a quick response. I emailed last week to see if there was a way that I could look at the traits library myself but hadn't heard anything back yet. sounds like this builder is how I do that. I've been trying to solve this problem since the week before christmas. Is the builder that I need to download the profile creator? Also, what is the correct mode for this software? 8 or 16bit? I have verified that the address is correct.
Your welcome. Yes the builder can be located here:
http://www.elationlighting.com...20Lighting%20Control
Just download the version for your OS.
Once you install and launch the Builder program you will have a list of manufacturer's. find your fixtures company and click the ">>" button to copy it to the User section on the right. You cannot do anything to a library until you copy it to the User section. Now all you have to do is find your fixture and select it and then click edit. From there you simply find the "Part" your having trouble with and select edit. Once your in the edit screen for that part you will be able to see the values and channels. Make sense? Let me know.
Sincerely,
